We only acquire the minimum personal data required.  Eg: Name Address, contact phone numbers, date of birth, religion, family names, connection within the family, and contact telephone numbers.

 

G & M Goold collect data from customers in line with the current guidelines defined within the General Data Protection Regulation, which is used to enable us to complete the contract between us and those customers and allow us to fulfil a funeral service.

 

We will collect the data on written arrangement forms, paper application forms and through questions relating to us being able to fulfil a funeral service.

 

The information we collect and store is necessary for us to complete our intended activity.

We consider the legal basis for processing such information is:

(a) Consent: the individual has given clear consent for us to process their personal data for a specific purpose.

(b) Contract: the processing is necessary for a contract we have with the individual, or because they have asked us to take specific steps before entering into a contract.

 

(c) Legal obligation: the processing is necessary for us to comply with the law (not including contractual obligations). Eg; Application for cremation form.

 

We reserve the right to hold customer data indefinitely in order for us to provide an ongoing personal service, to deal with customer enquiries and requests and for us to establish a direct line

of next of kin for funerals carried out.

We reserve the right at any time in the future to contact customers by telephone or post to advise you of our services or to enable us to complete our contract with you.

 

You may at any time opt out of receiving contact from us in respect to anything other than us completing our legal contract with you.

 

We confirm that it may be necessary for us to share information with third party businesses and individuals, eg; Golden Charter funeral planners, ministers, celebrants, organists, florists and stonemasons to allow them to discuss arrangements for your loved ones funeral arrangements,

plans or memorialisation.

 

Customers can contact us at any time to update their preferences and or withdraw their consent.

This must be done in writing, giving all the necessary information and details.

All correspondence must be sent to our registered address.

 

Disclosures

 

Me may need to share customer information and data with third parties, eg; crematoria, ministers, celebrants if it is necessary to allow us to perform the funeral service.

 

We will share customer data with third parties only if it is necessary for the fulfilment of our contract.  

We may share this data verbally, written paper documents or forms or by e-mail.

We will endeavour to safeguard the transference of data as much as possible. Data will only be shared to our known and trusted third parties.

 

Accuracy and Integrity of the Data

 

We will endeavour as much as possible to keep accurate and up to date information.

If any customer requires us to alter, update or change their data in any way this must be done in writing, giving all the necessary information and details.

All correspondence must be sent to our registered address.

 

Security

 

We will take all reasonable steps to safeguard customer data by locking it away overnight,

not have data on public view and to report any loss of data as soon as possible to the relevant authority.

Any data collected by us will be kept securely as long as we see fit to enable us to meet and comply with our legal obligations.

 

Access to Information

 

Customers have the overall rights to any data or information held on them.

The customers have the right to review existing information, they have the right to object and the right to rectify any data or information held, or the right for them to be forgotten if it does not inflict with our contractual obligation.
